Feature O' Friends #1

Hello, one and all!

Time for our first issue of Feature O' Friends!! This series is aimed at developing and nurturing community spirit by allowing members to suggest a friend to be featured in the next issue! Those who suggest a friend will also have their art featured as well.

Interested? Come on, we'd love to see who you're willing to suggest! But before you do any suggesting, here are some guidelines and steps you should take in order to participate.

1. First, think of a friend who you think deserves a feature, and write up to 5 sentences why you think your friend should be featured. Give other members a reason to check your friend out!
2. Next, choose two deviations from their gallery. Choose the ones you love, or the ones you think deserve the most attention. Get the thumb codes (":thumb000000000:") of these deviations, and add them into your suggestion.
3. After that, grab two deviations from your gallery that you'd like more attention on, copy and paste the thumb codes and put them in the suggestion as well.
4. Submit your suggestion as a comment on this journal, and wait for you and your friend to be featured in the next issue.
5. If we receive a lot of suggestions, we may need to push back some suggestions into the later issues. So, don't fret if your suggestion doesn't appear in the next issue, as it will be featured some time later.
6. If you are a Beta Tester and the thumb codes in your comment are turned into actual thumbs, please insert these: anywhere in your thumb codes before you submit your comment. This cancels out the thumb code and the thumb code will just appear as a thumb code.

"A very, very good friend of mine, Drydell-da-Vinci is a friendly and awesome guy to talk to. He has a great personality- and I could say the same for his gallery. I love reading his literature and he has a really distinct and fun drawing style I admire!"

Nightmare of her Former InnocenceShe, from under her green cap of hair, smiled and looked at the masterpiece she and her similar looking brother did to their favorite tree. A carving of a big heart, and a crude drawing in the middle. Daddy, Mommy, brother, and of course, sister. She smiled at her brother for a job well done. Mommy and Daddy is gonna love this! Throwing the carving stone away, the two headed back home, hand in hand, skipping along to the beat of the autumn season, kicking the orange leaves under their white shirts as they shaped their path. It was getting late, the sun’s rays beating down on one side of their cheek. It was a warm feeling, of nature around you about to sleep. Her childish, free spirited heart was at peace.

"He's best and the most caring friend of mine, quite active deviant and really deserves to get more attention since it looks like nobody still doesn't notice him and his skills. Quality of his writings is the best I've ever seen on the internet (though English is not even his main language). His stories are full of feelings, they totally suck you into the event by just the first words you read. He writes fanfics, mostly of Soul Eater and Pokémon, as well as original stories, and all of them are totally awesome and full of inspiration."

"Indiana is one of the most versatile Sonic fanartists I've ever met. In addition to being a very competent and experimental visual artist, always trying to blend realistic positions and movements with Sonic-style anatomy, she is also an excellent writer of fanfiction. Her stories dig deep and get to the meaning behind the characters and canon. Lately she's mostly moved out of Sonic fandom in favor of work from the Portal series, which is where her perceptiveness really shines. She takes the abnormal psychology of the Portal cast and makes it make a certain amount of disturbing, exhilarating sense. "

THE RIGHT REASONS
Chapter One
We haven't seen him in months.
It's kind of weird.  First he comes at us, again and again and again for years on end, and now… nothing.
I don't like it.
It bothers me so much nowadays that I can't sleep. I have this strange feeling that if go to sleep, he's gonna reappear right over my head with an axe or something with a mad gleam in his eye.   The day that happens, well, let's just say I'm gonna be in trouble.  I might be fast, but I like to take my time getting out of bed.
I think I'm gonna ask Tails about it.  He can usually track the guy down without too much trouble.
I sit up in bed and yell, "TAILS!"
"WHAT?" Tails yells back from the other room.
"COME HERE, I WANNA ASK YOU SOMETHING!"
Tails walks reluctantly into the room.  We've had this sort of discussion before, where we literally spent hours arguing over who was gonna go to who, and he lost anyway.  So now he just comes to me.

Blue Tint (Pokemon/Sonic Crossover)He slid to a halt at the end of the cliff and shivered.
Sonic the Hedgehog lifted a hand to his face, trying to use his fingers to shield his eyes from the sun and the wind. He couldn't shake the uncomfortable feeling that he was lost… and he realized that this was one of the few times that feeling had ever bothered him.
He looked down the mountain at the landscape below, frowning. Sunlight glinted off grass that had a much greener tone than he remembered only hours ago; vegetation was sparse where earlier in the day it had been plentiful. The sun was further south in the sky than he recalled, like the very season had changed. A gust of wind swept over him, colder than before. The sun was going down.
He briefly considered trying to descend the mountainside before nightfall, but as he looked out and beheld the many streams and rivers flowing from the mountain, he thought better of it. Sonic began searching for a nook or a cave that might shield him from the wind.

"L-S-S has been my best friend and rival for years. We never fought over who was better, so we're not rivals in that sense, but we always strove to be able to improve just as much as the other.
