Looking for Admins!

Sat Jan 4, 2014, 11:43 PM by SimplySilent:iconsimplysilent:

Hey there, everyone! :happybounce: We at Rising-Artists are always looking for more admins who are willing to volunteer their time to help out the group. If you are interested in becoming an admin here, please read over the following info.

We have two main categories of admins, whose descriptions and responsibilities are explained below.

Moderators are the "part-time" admins who help out with some of the more simple tasks in the group, which mostly involve participating in the admin forums.

All admins are responsible for:

  • Contest Voting: Admins are expected to help judge our prompt challenges/contests by voting for contest entries.
  • General Maintenance: Other responsibilities include moving submissions from the "Wrong Folder" gallery into the correct location and answering any questions, comments, or notes to the group.

Co-Founders are the "full-time" admins who help out with the group's most important duties, which include planning and posting journals for the various activities/events we host here.

In addition to the general admin requirements above, Co-Founders can participate in the following:

  • Group Activities/Features: Co-Founders organize and post the journals for group activities and features, which include the Friday Favorites, Feature O' Friends, Thursday Feedback Corners, Tuesday Tips, and Random Member Features. Each month, Co-Founders are able to sign up to lead any activity they would like.
  • Contests/Prompt Challenges: Co-Founders can also volunteer to help lead the bi-weekly prompt challenges or monthly contests. This involves choosing a theme for the prompt challenge/contest, posting the announcement and reminder journals on time, and collecting votes from the admins.
  • Submission Tickets: Co-Founders help monitor and vote on submissions to the Contest folders and the Critique Me folder.

If admining as either a Moderator or Co-Founder sounds like something you'd like to do, please comment or send us a note with the answers to the following questions:

  • What admin position would you like? (Moderator/Co-Founder)
  • Which group activities/responsibilities would you most like to help with?
  • What's one thing you'd like the group to focus on in the coming year? (Could be as simple as continuing a certain activity, or it could be a completely new idea, if you have one :la:)

Feel free to make the answers brief (1-2 sentences is perfectly fine). :aww: These are just for us to get to know what kind of admin you'll be, not to try to cut people out of admining. :eager:

- I'd love to be a co-founder, I love surrounding myself with artsy people , love participating in group activities, and have time on my hands ;)
- Personally I'm a huge fan of contests as they bring the group together to share all sorts of unique, interesting works of art that most likely would go unnoticed, plus I like the competitive side of it ;) I'd love to help organize drawing contests and the like.
- Continue the art contests XD also I think monthly art supply/print giveaways are a really cool idea :) also a critique session weekly? would be interesting where members can submit their work for constructive criticism :)

thank you for reading!

Hey! I wonder if I could become a co-founder at some point? I'd really like to take part in some of the more creative stuff like helping to organise events as well as the other duties.
Exams are over and I have more free time Dango-blush

Yep, I'll go ahead and move you to the co-founder spot now because I'm bound to forget later. :P

I believe contributors become co-founders once they sign up for an activity in the schedule.  I noticed you commented there already (by the way, the schedule fills up rather slowly.  There are usually open spaces a week yet after it's been posted).

Thanks, I'll grab a spot ASAP next time.

Hmmm... Being a moderator would fit me best, I guess, since I just don't have the time to go full-time. But I could handle being a moderator.
I haven't given any critiques yet, so that would be a first. However, I should be able to handle the rest of the stuff that's up there.
Of course, you'd better not choose me now because I'm still a bit of a newbie, so I don't think it would be wise, and it is pretty hard to be a moderator, undoubtedly.
That's that for now, yet if you ever need someone in the future...

We'd be happy to have you on as an admin. :) If you aren't quite sure if you're ready yet, you can hang around in the back room a bit and see what sort of things we're up to. :D

I'll be sending you an invite, and if you could read over the Admin Guide afterwards, that will help you get caught up. Let me or the group know if you ever have any questions, and welcome aboard! :la:

Can I send notes for questions and things like that?
