Looking for Admins!

Sat Jan 4, 2014, 11:43 PM by SimplySilent:iconsimplysilent:

Hey there, everyone! :happybounce: We at Rising-Artists are always looking for more admins who are willing to volunteer their time to help out the group. If you are interested in becoming an admin here, please read over the following info.

We have two main categories of admins, whose descriptions and responsibilities are explained below.

Moderators are the "part-time" admins who help out with some of the simpler tasks in the group, which mostly involve participating in the admin forums.

All admins are responsible for:

  • Selecting Friday Favorites: Every week, a new post is made in the forums with the theme for the Friday Favorites, and admins are expected to post with their favorite artwork(s).
  • Contest Voting: Admins are expected to help judge our prompt challenges/contests by voting for contest entries.
  • Giving Critiques: For those who like to give critiques, admins are encouraged to give feedback to artworks submitted to the Critique Me folder.
  • Other Responsibilities: These include moving submissions to the Other folder into the correct location, and answering any questions, comments, or notes to the group.

Co-Founders are the "full-time" admins who help out with the group's most important duties, which include planning and posting journals for the various activities/events we host here.

In addition to the general admin requirements above, Co-Founders can participate in the following:

  • Group Activities/Features: Co-Founders organize and post the journals for group activities and features, which include the Friday Favorites, Feature O' Friends, Thursday Feedback Corners, Tuesday Tips, and Random Member Features. Each month, Co-Founders are able to sign up to lead any activity they would like.
  • Contests/Prompt Challenges: Co-Founders can also volunteer to help lead the bi-weekly prompt challenges or monthly contests. This involves choosing a theme for the prompt challenge/contest, posting the announcement and reminder journals on time, and collecting votes from the admins.

If admining as either a Moderator or Co-Founder sounds like something you'd like to do, please comment or send us a note with the answers to the following questions:

  • What admin position would you like? (Moderator/Co-Founder)
  • Which group activities/responsibilities would you most like to help with?
  • What's one thing you'd like the group to focus on in the coming year? (Could be as simple as continuing a certain activity, or it could be a completely new idea, if you have one :la:)

Feel free to make the answers brief (1-2 sentences is perfectly fine). :aww: These are just for us to get to know what kind of admin you'll be, not to try to cut people out of admining. :eager:

If it's not to late, I'd like to help as well as a moderator. I can assist with voting and the Friday Favorites, and any other tasks that pop up. As my schedule clears up in future, I'd be able to assist with more tasks.

I think the group is set up in an awesome way already, which covers practically everything from features to giving new members exposure and to promote contests/projects.

Just a random top-of-my head suggestion is to maybe to get members to feature other members on their journals as well (I'm all about spreading the love and support ) and so doing promote the group as well to other groups of people. Even a little three thumb feature would help someone immensely. Then have a round up at the group, and mention all the members who had feature journals? Or something like that, in my defense, it's past 1AM here and i should be sleeping... hehe. If I come up with anything more interesting I'll let you know.
Hello there! We always are happy to invite new admins, so you are certainly not too late. :D

Ahh, that sounds like a great idea. We do a lot of features here at the group, but I never thought about encouraging members to write features in their journals as well. I'll probably bring it up in the group forums soon so that the other admins can pitch in with their feedback as well. :la:

Anyway, once you accept your invite, you will be able to access the admin Club House. If you could read over the Admin Guide as well as some of the recent posts in the backroom, that will help you catch up with what's going on in the group. :eager: Welcome aboard!

Thanks for the welcome! I'll go read the guides

I'd like to be a moderator, and I'm interested in giving critiques and voting on contests.

I think it would be good to keep doing what you're doing--I apologize, the group is already doing so well, and I can't really think of anything other than what you're already doing, which is a lot as it is.
Hello there! We always will appreciate extra help with those two activities, so welcome on board the admin team! :eager:

Once you accept your invite, you will be able to access the admin Club House. If you could read over the Admin Guidelines as well as some of the recent posts in the Club House, that will help you catch up with what's going on in the group. :D

To be honest, I feel incredibly intrusive applying so soon, but as a person with a lot of free time on their hands, as well as someone who feels like they'd give helpful critique, I'd wonder if you have space for a moderator?
I've had similar positions to this before (I was an administrator on a gaming server) and am used to the responsibilities that come with dealing with people. I'm pretty good at following orders, too.
I feel like I'd be good at the "boring"(?) job of moving submissions to their respective folders, although each of the stated moderator duties look good to me. Critique, as aforementioned, would be something I'd do a great deal of. In fact, I'd say that increasingly copious amounts of feedback is what I'd like the group to move towards!
Oh, it's no problem at all. While it's easier to understand the group if you have been a member for a while, new members can still make great admins. :D

I'll be sending you an invite, and if you could read over the Admin Guide, that will help you get caught up with the group. :eager:

Thank you for your interest in admining with us, and welcome aboard the team! :la: We look forward to working with you.

Co-founder, if it isn't too late yet. I spend 80% of my time on the internet in DA, and I want to help with the contest stuff. I adore this group, and I'd like to help out in any way I can.
