SarcasmNymph here with another Tuesday Tips.  :typerhappy:

We can talk about techniques all we want but when it comes down to it the biggest hindrance that I face in my art is not learning new things but giving time to learning new things. After all we all have something really boring called life and work. So how can we find that extra push to get our creative juices flowing? I am no expert of course but I have learned a few tips and tricks that might just help push over the edge. Leggo!

  1. Have an idea:
  2. This corresponds to the planning your art post I did a while. But the key is to make sure you have an image of what you want to do. This way you will have something to look forward to and feel the urge to produce what you imagine.
  3. Give yourself time limits:
  4. I know, I know this is beating a dead horse but you do need to set yourself a time. x hours, a week, month or even 3 months. But give yourself that so you are never gone for too long. Inversely, give yourself a time limit. That is not too much time, this will create a sense of urgency and will not make the session look too daunting.
  5. Do it for others:
  6. This might be a personal thing but I know for a fact that when I have some one to show something, like a deliverable I feel ten times more motivated to do it. Because I want to impress, pressure, other's happiness, etc? I have no clue, it just works. Try it, give yourself a task to make a surprise present for someone an see that wonders that task does on you.
  7. Have a deadline:
  8. I know, I know another dead horse, but the miracles a deadline can do is beyond comprehension. Giving yourself a task with a set time to achieve might not be best for your sanity but is definitely worth the push.
  9. Don't make it a chore:
  10. This might seem a little contradictory but it is equally or maybe more important. Make sure that working on your next masterpiece is not a chore. Whether art is your hobby, part-time or career the moment it becomes a 'work', 'chore' or 'burden' this will not only motivate you to do anything but that. Moreover, it will be severe backlash to your creativity and you don't want that. The best way to make sure this doesn't happen, always do something you want to or even better have a chore you hate more and in order to avoid that chore you will end up doing art, I promise. ;)

So what are your some of your thoughts, tricks and tips to get some art done. Or is life just too underwhelming for you to even have a problem ?  Comment below and let us know. :la:

This might be a weird recommendation but i used to draw daily and a lot per day and i lost a huge amount of my motivation, whats slowly helping me to get back into things is only drawing what i like to draw, regardless of the quality or content. For example starting a drawing off with no lines or plan, making cool shapes or seeing a pose and exaggerating it one step further. By doing this i found i drew frequently and it felt like way less of a chore, then after i while i was able to get back into the mindset of improvement.

If you were wondering how i started off with drawing so much per day, it was the power of deadlines.
