Weekly Wrap Up

Here's a wrap up for all of our older members, and a nice preview for the newer members about what sort of things we do here at Rising-Artists. Our admin team works diligently to organize and host a variety of activites, so hopefully you'll find some things you enjoy!

Prompt Challenges (Sundays)

Every two weeks, we host a themed prompt challenge to encourage members to explore beyond their comfort zone and develop new skills in art. The top three winners each week receive prizes, but frequent participants also have opportunities to win.

New Challenge!
This week's new prompt is "Music" (suggested by Sempiternally). You now have two weeks to create an artwork that fits this prompt in an original and meaningful way. Are you willing to take on the challenge?

Feature O' Friends (Mondays)

This bi-weekly series is aimed at developing and nurturing community spirit by allowing members to suggest a friend to be featured in the next issue. Those who suggest a friend can have their artwork featured as well.

How to Feature
Interested? Come on, we'd love to see who you're willing to suggest! But before you do any suggesting, here are some guidelines and steps you should take in order to participate.
First, think of a friend who you think deserves a feature, and write up to 5 sentences why you think your friend should be featured. Give other members a reason to check your friend out!
Choose two deviations from their gallery and paste the thumbcodes of them here. Make sure to delete the last : from the thumb code so that it is easier for us to copy and paste.
After that, grab two deviations from your gallery that you'd like more attention on, and copy and paste the thumb codes here. Next Feature: Monday, February 10th

Random Member Features (Wednesdays)

This weekly feature focuses on promoting the work of one active member of the group. Want to join in? Read the Random Features each week and comment on the artworks to have a chance to be featured in the following week.

Friday Favorites (Fridays)

The Friday Favorites are a themed feature of artworks selected by admins. Every week, admins pick one or two artworks that relate to the theme so that every artist, regardless of their skill level, has an opportunity for their artworks to be featured.

"The fighting characters aren't the friends, its the idea that usually games like this are played with friends (or siblings...) I used to play games like this with my friends all the time when I was younger, so when I saw this, I thought it fit the theme well."

CONTEST EXTENDED: Why, you ask? Well, it is for those who are a tad late and those who don't want to upload their work online before giving it to their sweethearts. A lot of entries are made as gifts for people, so naturally, many people want to keep them as secret. Therefore, go celebrate first, and then wrap this up! You get another week, so the contest's new deadline is February 21st.

Hey everyone! Finally time for a new contest! And knowing the date, the theme wasn't hard to pick or guess. We'll just be simple and mainstream and do a Valentine's Day theme! After all, the date is almost here, only three weeks away. So it's a win-win situation - you can be making things for your sweethearts (or to sell to others who don't have your wicked skills. money is great!) AND you can be entering the contest! Interested?
